Laura and Dean Wedding (Chico, CA)

I had so much fun traveling to California for this wedding; it's always so nice when you work with couples that are so friendly and welcoming.  As soon as we arrived we were invited to their rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding where we got to meet their wonderful family and friends, this usually makes things a little easier for all of us on the wedding day since we get a chance to get acquainted with everyone.  It was so fun getting a tour of Dean's childhood home and all of the unique art his mom collects too!
This wedding had so many personal touches, Dean and Laura are outdoor and enthusiasts and it's always fun to see how couples express their personalities in DIY weddings like this.  Some of my favorite details had to be the boutonnieres, the amazing bridesmaids dresses that were customized for each girl, the cowboy boots, all of the thoughtful details throughout the site, and of course being on a Christmas Tree Farm.  Dean and Laura even put a twist on the traditional champagne toast by pouring their guests a couple shots of whiskey, so fun!  These two really are surrounded by a great group of friends and family and it was an honor to spend the weekend with them and to capture their wedding day.

  1. Beautiful work, Tara. You know when you find a photographer and wish you could have your wedding all over again just so that one photographer could shoot it? Yeah, you're that photographer to me.
